I hear Multodextrin does not impact glycemic status (blood sugar).

You will often find the ingredient Multodextrin in packaged foods. There has been a lot of marketing $’s thrown at the public to convince you that this is safe and does not engender a glycemic response.

Well this is a big fat LIE.

I don't know if you realize it but multidextrin is actually a starch. Is this a big deal? Without doing a deep dive in the inflammatory nature of Multodextrin lets just look at the general health question:

Does Multiodextrin cause your blood sugar and insulin to spike? YES, IT DOES…More than an equal amount of glucose.

We ask that folks to avoid sugar (glucose). As you can see from the attached chart from this study (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7231297/). Multidextrin has a higher glucose secretion to blood serum than straight glucose. Actually, Multidextrin causes a 20% higher glucose spike and a 40% higher insulin response than glucose alone.

This as a learning step on how seemingly innocent foods hide unhealthy ingredients. If it is in a box or a bag then you have to scour the ingredient label.

Now, my final comment is on the WHY. It is my opinion that the multidextrin is used in order to increase consumption. I can provide further info on this if you desire.
